Since 1822 the town of Dartmouth has held an annual regatta which has in past years seen yacht racing between some of the finest yachts in the world, including J Class Yachts.
2008 was no exception and the Dartmouth regatta now ranks as one of the best in Britain and is fast becoming the South Coasts must-do event.
For the last three years the spectacular Farr 45s have competed for their national championship here.
The week provided a full programme of racing for yachts, sportsboats, keel boats, traditional yachts and dinghies. There was entertainment to suit everyone. The regatta marquee at Darthaven Marina, was the focus of festivities every night including prize givings.
